Straight Talk about eBooks and eAudiobooks

Many of you have come to us with questions about eBooks: why certain titles aren't available, why there are limits on how many patrons can have a title checked out at one time, etc. What you might not know is that publishing companies control how libraries are allowed to lend eBooks to its patrons and whether or not libraries are allowed to purchase them at all.

Looking for eBook bestsellers like these?

Currently, six major publishers control the majority of bestsellers. These same publishers refuse to sell to libraries, or do so at extremely high markups. For more information, visit the Kansas State Library's Facebook Page. Raise awareness and let your voice be heard!
