Honor & Memorial Books

Sending a gift in someone’s memory is the perfect way to remember friends and loved ones or to honor a birthday, graduation, or anniversary. A bookplate inserted inside will name both the individual honored and the donor. Donors may choose a collection subject area or suggest a book (pending staff approval).

If you are interested in underwriting an item, fill out the form below, email ATS@dglibrary.org, or call 630-960-1200.

Monetary donations

Monetary donations can be given to the library at the Checkout Desk in the lobby, or in the Administration office. All donations help fulfill the library's purpose statement of ensuring that DGPL is a place for everyone to Discover, Grow, Play, and Learn.

supporting the cupboard

The Cupboard is the library's little free pantry, located in the lobby near the stairs to the second floor, available for any community member who is housing or food insecure, or finds themselves in need. Available items vary depending on donations. Patrons are encouraged to help themselves to items they need. No tax money is used to purchase the free items in The Cupboard; all items are donated through local partnerships or by generous patrons.

To support neighbors through The Cupboard, please drop off food and toiletries in the lobby during the library's monthly donation drive on the 3rd weekend.

Can't make it to the library? Patrons may ship items to the library using the library's Amazon wish list. When checking out, select the shipping address "Social Work Interns C/O The Cupboard's Gift Registry Address." Alternatively, patrons may select their home address and bring items into the library on the 3rd weekend of the month.
