A select group of 12 high school students will have a chance to work with local artist John McDavitt this summer to create a student-driven group mural which will be installed as an art piece in Teen Central.
McDavitt, who created the mural in the Kids Room, will guide the students through the entire processing of envisioning and creating the final product. The program will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., June 11 – July 30. The library will supply all materials.
Teens who live in Downers Grove or attend a Downers Grove school, have completed at least one year of high school, and have art class experience are invited to apply online (dglibrary.org/artiststudio) from April 1 – 30. Selections will be made in May and students will be notified by May 15.
